Hailing from Shueyville, Iowa, Hailey Whitters was curious about what lie beyond her tiny town. Her ears often craned towards a dusty car radio playing the likes of country stars George Strait, Shania Twain, & Alan Jackson. It wasn't 'til digging through her grandma's old record collection that she discovered classics such as Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, thus beginning her deep rooted appreciation for country music. With her starry eyes set on Nashville, Tennessee, Hailey enrolled to the prestigious Belmont University, focused on a music business degree. Hitting the books by day, Hailey hit the honky-tonks by night. She found herself a dime in a dozen of country singer hopefuls, paying their dues with what little was tossed in a plastic tip jar at the end of the night. Always moved by song, Hailey began sharpening her writers pen and playing her original songs at some of Nashville's most popular venues. After being chosen as a winning contestant in Belmont University's "Best of the Best" showcase, Hailey decided to put a band together. Flirting with rock, minding their manners with bluegrass, and keeping a tight grip on old time country tradition, the Hailey Whitters Band has created a sound innovative towards the future, with a hint of a bittersweet yesterday. With her nose to the grindstone, Hailey is slowly but surely charming her way into being country music's newest sweetheart.
