Melissa Fuller has an insatiable impulse to create – whether it’s writing for her next record, using her voice to advocate for World Vision, playing shows or collaborating with major Nashville artists and bands for their upcoming projects – Melissa is always making music.
The Wyoming native started singing in church at a very young age and knew that’s what she wanted to do. By the time she’d finished high school, Melissa had performed at hundreds of rodeos and county fairs stretching from California to Kansas and Nashville was her next stop. After college, she headed south to intern for a big-time publishing company and punch her ticket on the music industry rollercoaster. Melissa was soaring – opening for legends like ZZ Top, Lonestar and Diamond Rio, playing festivals and taking meeting after meeting with music producers and managers. She began writing for a new album and after meeting Grammy award winning producer and engineer Chad Carlson, creating a record was the next step.
“Making the Crazy Dream EP was really important. I didn’t necessarily care if it fit into any one genre perfectly. Each song was a different representation of where I was at as a writer and an artist. That project really built a bridge between where I’d been and where I was going.”
After nearly 7 years of calling Nashville home, her dedication to her craft is finally materializing. Last year alone, Melissa wrote and co-wrote 173 songs for herself and many of her favorite Nashville artists and bands. Her most recent cut, “Okay Alone” is on Katie Armigers newest record Fall Into Me. Several other collaborations will be released on major label artists this year. Melissa's currently recording her next album and was recently chosen by the Recording Academy & Hitlab as the 55th Grammys Emerging Artist Competition finalist.
